The hunting season in South Africa starts in April and ends in October, coinciding with autumn, wInter and the start of spring in South Africa. We can also organise your hunting safari out of season, from October to March.
The best time of the year for wingshooting is between May and September.
We recommend hunters to bring their own rifle on safari. The export/import paperwork is simple and we will help you throughout the process. please contact us for more details and we will be glad to tell you about the whole process.
A 7mm, 30-06, 300 win mag, 300 weatherby, 338 or similar are sufficient for large antelopes.
A 243, 270, 7x57.or similar are ideal for smaller antelopes.
We recommend a 375, 416 or similar for hunting the Big Five.
Remember that your weapon must be bolt-action. Semi-automatic weapons are not permitted in South Africa.
You will need a hard metal or plastic case with a lock for the flight and a soft cover for the safari.
Bows and Crossbows require no permits or import/export paperwork.
First preparation of trophies is carried out at our premises and then they are sent to southafrican taxidermy, where they go through the compulsory period of quarantine, parasite control and skin/trophy for dispatch to your taxidermist or home.
Triphies must be treated with respect and professionalism throughout the process and our team is perfectly trained to do so at all times.
